Terms of Your Contract with HorseTrucksForRent.com. You will have made us an offer to purchase the services once you have either done so verbally or clicked ‘Book Now’. We will have accepted this offer once we have both received the necessary payment. Where the arrangement with the truck hire company is for us to act as an agent, acceptance of your offer is by us as agent on behalf of the truck hire company, when rented through our partners. In case we act as an agent this clearly mentioned at the moment of booking. Without notice at the moment of booking HTFR is renting to you the vehicle. When the vehicle is rented straight from HTFR or of another truck hire company, same rules apply. If an agreement is reached in any way, HTFR still has the right to withdraw its offer or agreement within 5 days of the day of payment. In the event of bankruptcy or any other circumstance which results in you being unable to possess your own capital for a certain amount of time, the HTFR is free to cancel the agreement made with you at any time, without being obligated to provide any compensation.
In the event of contradictory clauses between the agreement between you and HTFR and our Terms, our Terms will apply. In the event of annulment, of termination, or any of the clauses held within this contract, the remaining clauses will still be applicable. If the remaining clauses will not be legally valid as a result of said annulment, the relevant clauses are to be renegotiated.
HTFR is not liable for obvious mistakes and typing errors in the agreement.
We are responsible for losses that you directly suffer as a result of us breaking this agreement if the losses are a foreseeable consequence of us breaking the agreement. Losses are foreseeable where they could be contemplated by both you and us at the time our agreement is formed. We are not responsible for indirect losses which happen as a side effect of the main loss or damage and which are not foreseeable by you and us; nor are we liable for, without limitations, loss of profits, loss of opportunity, loss of goodwill or consequential losses, damages, or costs.
Important Information Regarding Exchange Rates. Due to the fluctuation of exchange rates, please be aware that the amount charged to your banking card may differ from the price we quote when you agree to pay for a product or service. The difference (if any) will depend on changes to exchange rates during the period between the moment you book and the moment the charge is reflected in your banking card statement. Similarly, should we refund any money to your account, we will refund the exact amount initially charged – and will not be responsible for any fluctuations in exchange rates that lead to you receiving a larger or smaller refund than expected.

Customer reviews. Completed reviews may be uploaded onto our website for the sole purpose of informing customers of your opinion of the service and quality of the truck hire company and used partially or in their entirety by HTFR on our platforms, social media platforms, newsletters, special promotions, mobile applications, or other channels owned, hosted, used or controlled by HTFR. By submitting a review, you are consenting to the above use of your review. We reserve the right to adjust, refuse or remove reviews at our sole discretion. Complaints. If you are dissatisfied with your rental, please report this to us as soon as feasible, but at least within 3 months of dropping the truck off, by contacting our Head Office. After the term of 3 moths HTFR or the truck hire company is not liable for any damage or whatsoever. It is difficult for us to assess any claim regarding your rental if this action is not taken at the time of drop off. Also when you rent a truck with the truck hire company with HTFR as an agent, we will try to help by contacting the truck hire company on your behalf whenever there is a problem.
Data protection law. Please note that in the course of the performance of the booking as well as the rental process, HTFR collects some personal data. It is mandatory to provide all the information requested; in the absence of such information, HTFR will not be able to correctly ensure the booking and/or the rental. You have the right to access, update, correct or delete personal data collected by us. You may correct factual errors in that data by sending a request to us pointing out the error. The data will only be used for professional purpose of renting process.
In order to allow us to provide you with effective services, HTFR may from time to time transfer data collected to other companies in the EU or outside the EU. This transfer does not imply any restriction and our privacy policy will be fully applicable. By accepting these General Rental Terms, you hereby authorize HTFR International to proceed with such a transfer.
The General Information and Terms & Conditions stated are correct at the time of going to press.
Driving licence. You must hold and produce a driving licence valid in the country where the rental takes place. Expired or provisional licenses will not be accepted. You must also keep the driving licence with you at all times throughout the rental, for perusal by local authorities.
No refunds will be given if a truck hire company refuses to supply a truck because of undisclosed endorsements – or because you cannot provide a driving licence, its counterpart, or the required information about endorsements. We will not be liable for the completion of travel arrangements, nor for any refund, compensation or any other costs you may have to pay in such a case.
Please note that when driving abroad you may require an International Driving Permit. It is the driver’s responsibility to check whether they will need an International Driving Permit. An International Driving Permit does not replace the requirement for a regular driving licence: a full driving licence in the main driver’s name will still be required in order to rent the truck, and every driver requiring an International Driving Permit must keep both documents with them at all times. Please note that the international driving licence is valid only if accompanied by the normal driving licence. If an International Driving Permit is required, you will not be able to collect your rental without the permit and your driving licence.
When the rental is made outside your country of residence you must also present a valid identity card or a valid passport. These identification documents are generally not requested if you are a resident of a country belonging to the European Union and the rental takes place in another European Union country, nevertheless every case will be judged individually.
Payment. You must produce a valid banking card with an expiry date after the due check-in date or a valid HTFR charge card at pick up time.
Please find further details in the part 3 – Terms of payment.
Confirmation of your booking will (in most cases) be confirmed immediately using the email address provided when the booking is made. When you book a truck on our site, we will email you to confirm the availability within 48 hours of booking (or, if earlier, at least 24 hours before your pick-up time). We will then send you a booking confirmation. You will not receive your contract until we have confirmed your booking and taken the payment. We will send all correspondence to the address provided when making a booking.
In most circumstances the cancellation policy below will apply to your booking. When cancelling your booking after 48 hours prior the time of your reservation, you will be charged 50% of the total booking price. When cancelling your booking 24 hours prior the time of your reservation, you will be charged 100% of the total booking price. In case of emergency (horse is unable to compete, cancelled competitions, etc), you must provide us with an honest proof, as a vet/vet-Clinique injury statement or other possible proof of emergency that could not be seen in advance. The judgement of the emergency situation will be always done by an employee of HTFR, and will never be a subject of discussion.
When a truck is returned with a delay (after agreed time), especially after the closing hour of the pick-up company (17:00h), the system will automatically charge one extra day. This puts in risk the following clients of not getting the truck at the right time.
In case of “no-show”, you will receive no refund of the money you have paid. A no-show is:
Amendments (changes in your booking) – you can make changes to your booking any time before you’re due to pick up the truck. There is no administration fee for charging your booking, but any changes you make may affect the rental price. Sometimes (not often), the only way we can change a booking is to cancel it and make another one, in which case we may charge you a cancellation fee on the truck hire company’s behalf.
Should you wish to keep the Vehicle for a period longer than that originally set out in the rental agreement, you are must first contact by phone the HorseTrucksForRent.com main contact number, in order to extend the duration of the rental agreement. The Vehicle is insured for the period mentioned on the rental agreement. Unless otherwise agreed in writing by HTFR, once this period is passed, the contracting party remains liable for any damages to HTFR.
If We Make Changes to Your Booking: Occasionally it may be necessary for changes to be made to your booking (after acceptance) by us or by the truck hire company. In all such cases we will advise you as soon as reasonably possible before pick-up and, if the proposed changes are unacceptable, you will be offered a full refund. However, in such circumstances, we shall have no additional liability in respect of any direct or indirect losses you may suffer as a result of such changes.
Where the truck cannot be picked up due to insufficient documentation or failure to provide a valid credit card, this will be treated as a ‘No Show’, which means you will not be entitled to a refund of money paid.
Delivery and collection terms. You undertake to return the Vehicle to HTFR at the agreed place, on the date and the time indicated on the rental agreement. Where you ask HTFR, and HTFR agrees in writing to deliver the Vehicle or to collect the Vehicle, you may have to pay additional charges and follow additional instructions. You must check at the time of reservation. Please note: Vehicle hire companies generally do not deliver to or collect from private accommodations.
You must return the Vehicle immediately if HTFR asks you to do so. In the event that the Vehicle is not delivered to HTFR upon request you hereby authorise HTFR to enter your premises and to do any and all other things necessary to repossess the Vehicle. You will be liable for any costs associated with such repossession. HTFR may repossess any vehicle without notice or liability where HTFR deems that such repossession is necessary for its own protection.
Driving areas. Restrictions may be applicable when taking the hire truck to a different country/state/island; our Contact Centre must therefore be advised at the time of booking whether you intend to do this. Additional documentation may be required and local charges may apply for travel to certain countries.
The total charges for each rental will be determined according to the price list applicable at the time of rental. If you do not meet the preconditions for a contractual rate, then the standard rate is to be paid.
You must produce a valid banking card with an expiry date after the due check-in date or a valid HTFR charge card at pick up time.
Please note that HTFR accepts major banking cards such as several Credit Cards, Ideal and Apple Pay. As certain banking card companies may not be represented in all countries, it is advisable to verify in advance the acceptance of a specific card. Banking cards are accepted to the limits authorised by the banking card company. There is no possibility to pay in cash at any circumstances. When the Vehicle is returned, the invoiced amount will be charged to the credit card provided, unless you present another means of payment.
In the event of non-payment by the due date shown on the invoice, you will receive in total two official reminders including administration costs. In case there will be no action taken from your side, your case will be sent to the Incasso company. From that moment that company will be responsible for any further actions towards your case.
Non-payment by due date of any invoice or any other non-payment will render all outstanding invoices due immediately and will authorise HTFR to require immediate return of any vehicles still on rent and to terminate the agreements relating to such rentals.
The tariffs applicable to the rental, to the additional services and to the optional covers or insurances are those which are in force on the date of issue of the rental agreement, and correspond to the characteristics you originally indicated at the time of reservation (Vehicle type rental, duration, return station...). Any modification in the characteristics will entail the use of an appropriate alternative tariff.
Should the Vehicle not be returned with a full fuel tank, you will be charged for the missing quantity of fuel and for the refuelling service according to the tariffs in force in the country of rental. The cost may be higher than it would be at a local petrol station.
The vehicle must be returned in a clean state. To clarify the state of the truck, the horse part must be returned without any animal’s faeces, hay, straw, or shavings. That can be done easily with a broom. An additional water spray or high-pressure equipment is very welcome to apply, however is never obligatory. In case of any presence of earlier mentioned wastes, you will be charged a cleaning fee of €50,00 excl. In case the actual costs of cleaning are higher than the fee, then the actual extra costs will be also charged to you. VAT. An employee of HTFR that will check the vehicle while is returned, will have a full liability to judge the state of the truck and to take a final decision whether to charge the fee or not. The vehicle’s cabin also must be returned in a clean state, meaning with no excessive dirt or animal hair on the seats or floor carpets, as well as with no. garbage in the cabin’s dashboard compartments. Otherwise, the same fee will be applied.
Your own-risk damage excess is maximum €1.000,00 excl. VAT.
All trucks are insured with a European insurance, therefore are not suitable for driving outside of European Union. In case you need to drive outside of Europe, you must discuss it prior the trip with HTFR service centre.
The damages that were done by your horse to the inside or outside of the vehicle are not included in the insurance, therefore is your financial responsibility. In case of the accident, you must notify HTFR immediately.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Damage to the under body-work and/or roof due to collision with bridges, tunnels, overhanging structures etc., is excluded from the damage cover, unless force majeure can be proved.
Liability of damage to the Vehicle or Theft or Conversion. You will be liable for any damages to HTFR when renting a Vehicle that has been entrusted to you. Therefore, in the event of theft of the Vehicle or damages caused to it, you must fully indemnify HTFR (the indemnification will include the amounts corresponding to the repair costs, resale value of the Vehicle, loss of use, administration charges.). The amount will not exceed the market value of the rented vehicle at the time of the event.
You are advised that any waivers you may have chosen will be invalidated if you fail to take reasonable measures for the safety of the Vehicle, its parts or accessories, or fail to comply with all restrictions on the use of the Vehicle or otherwise abuse or misuse it.
You will not be exempt from liability towards HTFR in the case of breach of contract. Therefore, you will be responsible for any financial loss HTFR suffers as a result of such breach and for any relevant claims made by other people. You agree to pay any amounts HTFR spends in enforcing these terms.
Therefore, in any case, neither HTFR nor its officers, directors, employees will be liable to the contracting party for any amounts nor for any actions, law suits or claims related to any direct, indirect, consequential, punitive damages (such as loss of business, loss of profit) arising out of or in connection with the rental or the use of any vehicle, whether the action is based on contract or in tort. You will indemnify and hold HTFR harmless from all claims, liabilities, damages, losses or expenses arising out of the rental and/or the use of the vehicle.
If the loss suffered by HTFR is subsequently reduced (recovery of the Vehicle within 60 days, partial or total liability on the part of the Third party), you will receive the corresponding reimbursement.
Light damage. Both at check-out and check-in HTFR will, together with you, record in the rental agreement all visible light damage to a vehicle. At check-out unrepaired damage must appear on the rental agreement with the appropriate signatures by you and HTFR. At the end of the rental process i.e., at check-out, the identification of any new light damage must be added to the rental agreement. Any new light damage will be immediately pointed out to HTFR, mentioned in the rental agreement, and signed by you and HTFR. This damage will be charged to you at the amount of total expenditure (repair price and other costs connected to the incident) by HTFR.
These repair costs will be directly billed to you by HTFR and will include the cost of the damage repair as well as administration charges, immobilisation costs, spare parts and labour costs. The above-mentioned invoiced repair costs are payable under the same conditions as for the payment of the rental agreement.
Condition of the vehicle. A description of the condition of the Vehicle will be given to you at the same time as the rental agreement. Before leaving the rental location, you are required to check the condition of the Vehicle. Where an apparent defect is found which is not already listed in the document, you must immediately inform the HTFR employee at the counter in order to proceed with a joint-examination of the Vehicle. In such a case, amendments must be made to the document and duly countersigned by both parties. If the amended document is not countersigned by both parties, the condition of the Vehicle will be as set out in the renting agreement to you and it will be considered that you received the Vehicle in proper working condition. You will return the Vehicle in the same condition as it was provided at the start of the rental. You are responsible for any repair or refurbishment costs and these will be added to the cost of the rental.
Use of the vehicle. The Vehicle must not be driven by anyone other than you and then only under the condition that your ability to drive is not in any way impaired by mental or physical incapacity or restricted by the Law.
In every vehicle there is a special GPS Moving intelligence system that allows us to guide the location of the truck. By reading and accepting out Terms and Conditions, you give your consent that is allowing us to check the location of the truck at any time. This will be done strictly for safety reasons, such are kilometre guidance and for fine tracking.
If you wish to take the Vehicle outside the country of rental, you must check that the HTFR Terms & Conditions so permit you and, where necessary, obtain HTFR’s prior written consent.
The Vehicle will be provided to you with a full fuel tank. You must only refuel the Vehicle with the correct type of fuel. Costs of fuel and for the refuelling service will be at your expense if the Vehicle is not returned with a full tank, as it was mentioned in the previous sector. You are liable for all fees, taxes, fines and penalties incurred in connection with the use of the Vehicle and for which HTFR is charged, unless they have arisen through the fault of HTFR.
During the rental period you must carry out the usual checks (engine oil level, tire pressure, etc.) as would any careful user and you must respect the maintenance cycle of the Vehicle as stated in the maintenance guide, if any.
When parking the Vehicle, even for a short period, you undertake to lock it and make use of the Vehicle's alarm and/or immobilisation equipment. You must never leave the Vehicle unoccupied with the keys in the ignition. Non-return of the keys will lead to invalidation of the theft cover.
